The P&C Committee was formed in 1986 and is supported each year by Halidon parents to build a better school community. P&C Associations are an officially recognised forum where anyone interested in the welfare of government schools can meet to discuss educational issues. The objects of an association are to promote the interests of the school or group of schools for which it is formed through:

1. Cooperation between parents, teachers, students and members of the general community
2. Assisting in the provision of resources, facilities and amenities for the school
3. The fostering of community interest in educational matters

P&C’s give parents an opportunity to learn about the school’s policies and programs by:

1. Organising ways in which parents can share in shaping and developing school policies
2. Bring parents together to share information and views
3. Assist the school in building positive attitudes to students and their families
4. Help raise funds to provide extra resources

A large part of the P&C's role is to support Fundraising events to raise money to purchase items not included in the school budget. Such items purchased in the past include furniture, playgrounds, air conditioning, iPads and the Reading Eggs subscription.

Fundraising projects are generally agreed at the beginning of each year and approximately two fundraising projects are run each term. Regular events include Mothers Day and Father’s Day stalls, Art Exhibitions, Discos and Lapathons. Fundraising requires parent help so your support is valuable to ensure success! New suggestions are always welcomed.
